Software

The software that I have used to create the samples on this site.

Percussion studio

Percussion studio
Percussionstudio has been around for a number of years. It is a simple piano-roll type program. Just click to set notes and press play. It works fine, has plenty of instruments, and can export *.wav files. Unfortunately the volume of these wave files is not optimal. The interface is archaic and sometimes non-intuitive, and it misses options to format the music itself, change font, layout, display size, or to create larger overviews etc.

Wave pad

Wavepad
Wavepad
is a wave file editor with an impressive list of features. I use it to maximise the volume of the file and save it as an MP3 file. The software comes bundled with other software to convert audio files between various formats, and to burn CD's. You can use it for a limited time for free.

TypteTool 3
Typetool from FontLab is a tool to design your own TrueType fonts. Font design has been part of my programming work for many years. I've used it to create the Yankadifont for writing West African percussion.
